Many aspiring MBA students know that they need to demonstrate past examples of “leadership” along the path to demonstrating their longer-term “leadership potential”. But what, specifically, does this mean? And how does the definition vary by school?
We strongly believe that you need to understand how each school defines “leadership” in order to select the school that will best suit your needs and career goals. Similarly, you also need to understand how each school defines leadership in order to tailor your messaging during essays and interviews for maximum impact. School-specific research is therefore required. There is no “single source” to help you here; you need to work through each school’s sites, blogs, Twitter feeds, Facebook pages, etc. Whenever possible you should visit campus and meet as many current and former students as possible.
Today we’re going to highlight a short video from Darden Student Association President Aashish Goswami, where he talks about the Darden perspective on leadership.
