Dear Prep Professor: Should I even consider applying in Round 3? I understand my chances drop significantly?
The Chicago Booth team addressed some common concerns/questions about Round 3 and provided a few important pointers to consider when putting together your application.
Do I even have a chance of being admitted in Round 3?
Yes, there is still room for outstanding applicants who are a great fit. However Round 3 is generally the most competitive round because fewer spaces are available.
Should I apply in Round 3 or wait until the next cycle?
Without a doubt, it’s best to apply when you can submit the best possible application. Your application must be the best possible representation of who you are and must clearly communicate your goals for pursuing an MBA. Don’t allow a rushed application to ruin your candidacy.
Do international students admitted in Round 3 still have time to secure visas?
Generally yes. Chicago/Booth releases Round 3 decisions in mid-May and orientation doesn’t begin until early September, so international students should have enough time to secure their visas during the summer.
