Resume, Cover Letter and Social Profile Makeover $1,750
Mastering Résumé and Cover Letter Writing
This session includes an initial, comprehensive offline résumé and cover letter review (proofreading, commentary, and editing for clarity and meaning).
The résumé review focuses on highlighting personal impact and measurable outcomes, quality of language, and recommended formatting. The cover letter review focuses on being concise but compelling in describing your reason for writing, as well as effectively asking for consideration with a call to action.
The offline review is followed by a 2-hour session for in-depth discussion of edits and revisions, and to provide key insights and practical “rules of thumb” that will guide all of your future résumé and cover letter writing efforts.
Assessing Your Social Media Presence
This 1-hour session examines your online presence and the quality of your profile and “footprint” across social media platforms, especially LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter (these are reviewed prior to the session). Our discussion will include ways to mitigate any negative impressions as well as how to improve your online presence so it serves to positively differentiate your job candidacy, highlighting both professional and non-work interests and activities.
Particular attention will be directed toward enhancing your LinkedIn profile, as well as ways to use LinkedIn to boost overall job search performance and nurture ongoing relationships.
Improving Your Networking Strategy and Job Search Skills: $425
This 1-hour session offers both a conceptual framework and the necessary activation energy to pursue effective networking, in all its forms. You will receive practical recommendations on how to reach out to and communicate with new contacts who can best help you land a new position, as well as advice on how to improve “response success rates” over time.
You will complete this training with a strategic plan for personal outreach customized to your job search objectives, sample communications that will serve as your calling card for job-related conversations, and a ‘social map’ of key stakeholders in your current and future network (colleagues, classmates, alumni, prospective employers, and recruiters).
Interview Strategy, Interviewing Skills, and (optional) Mock Interview: from $425
Preparation for and discussion of key success factors for general or for MBA recruiting-specific behavioral interviews, with emphasis on communicating personal biography and “pitch,” rationale for pursuing a specific career path with each employer, and troubleshooting any factors that may hamper your success in earning a job offer.
This 1-hour session can be supplemented with an additional Mock Interview, consisting of 30 minutes of interview time, followed by a 30-minute critique on overall performance and quality of interview responses. Please note: there is an additional $300 charge for the optional mock interview.
