Accepted at Wharton (top-ranked and top-choice to which I applied)
I would recommend Mark to anyone seeking support in their business school application process. First and foremost, Mark provided a level of engagement, availability, and interest in my goals that I think is rare for anyone in any consulting industry. Mark really cared about getting me into the best possible business school, and he provided active and engaged support throughout the process. He stayed up late with me on multiple occasions, getting my last essay draft together, for example. He was available whenever I needed and never made me feel like a nuisance (even when I felt I was one).
Mark was unsurprisingly also excellent at the necessary qualities for any good b-school consultant – Mark had an insider knowledge of the application process, was a great strategist. Mark was knowledgeable or able to gain in-depth knowledge on all schools and gave excellent feedback on my essays.
More than anything, Mark gave me the confidence and support that I needed for a successful b-school app. Applying to elite MBA’s is an intense process of self-reflection and competition, much of success at applying has to do with recognizing and presenting your best self, keeping a level-head, and making good decisions with limited time and information. Mark helped me stay focused and break down the application process into digestible chunks. More than anything, Mark gave me the confidence to “go for gold” and apply with my most ambitious application, and it worked out – I got into my top school. I will forever be thankful to Mark and hope he and I remain in touch for a long time to come. He was the first person I wanted to call when I got in and the best possible companion I could have asked for in navigating the b-school application process.
Accepted to Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, Columbia, and Ohio State
Working with Mark during the application process was an amazing experience! Mark’s genuine enthusiasm, creativity, and desire to learn about my achievements and career aspirations were his most distinguishing factors. He was absolutely instrumental in challenging me to present both an essay and an entire application that captured the most important themes from my life in a concise manner. His encouraging feedback and timely critiques inspired me to write with more purpose and to honestly assess my true passions in life. His frequent questioning and our brainstorming discussions helped me develop not only an excellent essay but also prepared me for the actual interviews, which is an invaluable asset of his service.
As I reflect back on the process, I am so grateful for Mark’s dedication and continual life coaching because it wouldn’t have been possible without him. I am confident that Mark’s advice and support gave me the opportunity to attend my choice of top-tier schools, including Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, and Columbia. Despite these wonderful opportunities, Mark mentored me through a difficult personal process that led me to stay home and attend Ohio State. Thank you for your guidance and hard work!
Accepted to Yale SOM (scholarship), Kellogg, Darden and Stern
Beyond myself and my now fiancé, Mark was the person who was most intimately involved in my business school application process. We attacked the process in stages.
First, he helped talk me through the right GMAT prep strategy. We talked about my schedule, my study plans, and the resources I planned to use. Mark was extremely adept at helping me build a prep strategy that was tailored to my work schedule and study habits and that I would actually follow. As a result of this planning, I only had to take the test one time and scored in the 97th percentile.
As I was preparing applications, Mark played the dual role of friend and coach. Our conversations about my goals and career narrative felt like those I had with close friends. Ultimately, it was those conversations that led to thoughtful essays and a clear message during interviews. Mark’s coach hat was put on as he provided nuanced, pointed feedback on my essays and worked with me as I refined my verbal pitch during interview prep.
In the end, we were able to celebrate as I gained acceptance into 4 of the 5 schools I applied to, ultimately deciding on Yale SOM, where I received a scholarship.
Mark is great and I couldn’t recommend leveraging his expertise in the MBA application prep process more highly!
Accepted to Columbia (only school to which I applied)
I can’t underestimate how important Mark was in my application process. He has an ability to ask thoughtful questions that make me think – and helped me clearly and effectively explain i) why I wanted to go to business school, and ii) why business schools should want me.
Mark was able to understand what I was trying to say – and had the expertise to help me articulate my message in both my essays and my interview in a far more eloquent way than I could have myself. He was particularly helpful in translating my military experience into a compelling narrative that enabled me to gain acceptance to my #1 (and only) target. His mastery of the application process and belief in my candidacy gave me the confidence that I could gain admission to Columbia and not waste time on safety school applications.
The process to apply to business school can be daunting and arduous – but Mark provided the right balance of motivation and encouragement that led me to success. I enthusiastically recommend him to anyone who wants to make sure your top school sees all that you have to offer.
